HIQA has published its terms of reference for an independent statutory review of the governance and oversight of processes within Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) on the use of surgical implants / implantable medical devices, including a focus on the use of non-CE spring implants during spinal surgery in CHI at Temple Street.

The terms of reference have been developed following a request by the Minister for Health for HIQA to conduct a review under section 8(1)(c) of the Health Act 2007.

This document sets out how the review will be completed.
